Safari can't open the file
If you get this error message, below you will find the solution!
✅ Why Safari shows this message
Safari is trying to open the downloaded file instead of simply saving it. Sample packs and preset packs (like Serum presets) usually come as:
.zip.fxp.wav.serumpresetfolders containing presets
Safari doesn't know what app should open these, so it shows:
“no available application can open it”
This does NOT mean the file is broken — just that Safari can’t open it by itself.
✅ How to fix it
1. Check that the file actually downloaded
Open Finder → Downloads folder. Look for a file named something like:
THM - Minimal Bass & Tech Vol.1 - Serum Presets.zip
(or similar)
2. If it’s a ZIP file → double-click to extract
macOS will unzip it automatically. OR instal the unarchiver Inside you should find a Serum preset folder.
3. Install the Serum presets
Move the preset folder into:
Then open Serum → go to User folder → your presets appear.
❗ If the file is not a ZIP, Safari may have renamed it incorrectly
This happens often.
Try this:
Right-click the file → Get Info.
Check the file extension. If it has no extension, rename it:
Add .zip → press Enter → try opening again.
Example:
Rename
THM - Minimal Bass & Tech Vol.1 - Serum Presets →
THM - Minimal Bass & Tech Vol.1 - Serum Presets.zip
Then double-click it.
