# Installing 3rd party Sample Packs in Ableton

### 1. Download & Extract the Sample Pack

1. Download the pack from **Tech House Market**
2. Extract the `.zip` file
3. Make sure you have a normal folder (not compressed)

Ableton **cannot index ZIP files**.

***

### 2. Move the Sample Pack to a Permanent Folder

Choose a location you won’t delete or move later.

#### Recommended Locations

* **Windows:**\
  `Documents > Ableton > Samples`
* **Mac:**\
  `Documents > Ableton > Samples`
* External SSD (great for large libraries)

***

### 3. Add the Folder to Ableton Live

1. Open **Ableton Live**
2. Look at the **Browser (left side)**
3. Under **Places**:
   * Click **Add Folder**
   * Select your **Tech House Market sample pack folder**
4. Ableton will scan and index the samples automatically

***

### 4. Find Your Samples

Your pack will now appear under:

* **Places**
* Or **Samples** (depending on Live version)

You can:

* Preview samples with headphones icon
* Drag loops into the Arrangement or Session View
* Drag one-shots into Drum Rack or Sampler

***

### 5. (Optional) Color & Organize

For faster workflow:

* Right-click the folder → **Assign Color**
* Rename folders if needed (Ableton updates instantly)

✅ Installation complete — samples are ready for use in all projects.
