How to install Serum 2 Presets
This guide shows the correct way to install Serum 2 presets so they appear in the Serum 2 browser and work properly. Serum 2 uses a folder-based preset system, not legacy .fxp files.

This guide shows the correct way to install Serum 2 presets so they appear in the Serum 2 browser and work properly. Serum 2 uses a folder-based preset system, not legacy .fxp files.
Always let Serum 2 show you the correct folder.
Open your DAW
Load Serum 2 on an instrument track
Click Menu (top-right corner)
Select Open Serum 2 Presets Folder

Open the following path:
This is where all custom Serum 2 preset packs belong.
You may already see folders like:
Freebies
THM
Other custom packs
Unzip the preset pack you downloaded
Take the entire preset folder (do not open it)
Drag it directly into:

✅ You should end up with:
Presets → User → YourPackName → preset folders/files
Do not drag individual files. Do not rename internal folders.
Back in Serum 2:
Open Menu
Click Rescan Folders on Disk
If needed, restart your DAW.
Your presets will now appear in the Serum 2 browser under User.
❌ Installing presets outside the User folder
❌ Dragging individual files instead of the full folder
❌ Using Serum 1 .fxp presets
❌ Renaming internal preset folders
Keep one folder per preset pack
Never rename internal files
Always unzip before installing
Back up your Serum 2 Presets folder occasionally
If installed correctly, your Serum 2 presets will appear instantly in the browser and load exactly as designed.
