Serum 2 Questions

What about preset compatibility?

  • Serum 1 presets are fully compatible with Serum 2, and your Serum 1 presets will automatically be shown in Serum 2's preset browser.

  • Serum 2 presets cannot be loaded in Serum 1.

Will my ratings transfer from Serum 1 to Serum 2? Yes! Ratings applied to Serum 1 presets will be transferred over to Serum 2 the first time you launch Serum 2.

Do I need Serum 1 if I upgrade to Serum 2?

  • Serum 1 wavetables and noise files are provided in Serum 2, so if you don't need Serum 1 anymore, you can move your presets to the Serum 2 preset folder and remove the Serum 1 preset folder.

Can I keep using Serum 1 after upgrading?

Yes! After activating your Serum 2 update, you can continue using Serum 1. Both versions can be installed simultaneously, but we strongly encourage you to migrate to Serum 2. Serum 1 has reached end-of-life, and no more updates, fixes, or new features will be added to it. Serum 2 also uses less CPU than Serum 1.
